I would give less than 1 star !!
Stay away from this hotel.
Being an animal friendly hotel should not mean that they should allow for flies everywhere ... EVERYWHERE - in the garden, the lobby, the dark and gloomy dining room. Flies are even on the food they serve for breakfast!
The rooms are dark and not sound proof - we couldn't sleep for 3 days with noise from the corridor, rooms next door, upstairs !!!
I stayed there with my kids who were so excited to be with all sorts of animals.. turns out there are only a few chicken, 3 pigs, a goat and a few rabbits. The other animals they advertise on their website is not even on the same property and you only get to visit the "farm" once during your stay! They also advertise a restaurant which does not exist and when we told them about it they mentioned thay its not always open! The staff is absolutely awful and rude .. only one of the girls was nice and kind with the children .. the others have no idea what it means to be in the hospitality business .. specially the lady behind the counter who has absolutely to manners and needs to learn how to speak with paying customers. The kids were hardly ever allowed to play or hold the rabbits and they could not go into the chicken coop or help in any way with the animals!!!
Do yourself a favor, stay away. There are MANY much nicer hotels in the surrounding areas for much cheaper & with much much better service!!!
We stayed for 3 nights and for two of those nights there was no hot water between 3pm and the next morning. When you’re paying 220 euro a night I find this unacceptable. It’s not a refuge after all but supposedly a 3 star hotel. When notified of the lack of hot water on multiple occasions, they just said it wasn’t their fault and their was nothing they could do.
Perhaps they should spend more time fixing their plumbing services and less on the cute animals.
Outrageous service.
Avoid.
Welcome to the hotel of the Flies! The only thing nice about this hotel is the location. The women working at this hotel need to have a good lesson in hospitality. An hour and half before closing what they call a bar they were already warning us of the time we had to leave the table we were sitting at. It took them 30 min to bring us the wine bottle and glasses and to top it off it wasn’t the wine we ordered. Apparently they only had one kind! I tried ordering gelato for my son which I know they sell and I was told they didn’t have. All of this was to rush us out so they could clean the area. The next morning we go down to have breakfast and the door to the lobby was locked. Breakfast started at 8 and we went down at 7:55. I found it disturbing to have the door to the lobby locked. When we finally get to the small breakfast area it was full of flies all over the food! Only some food items were covered. All the rest of the food had flies all over them, as soon as I grabbed food that was covered the flies would could come all around me. It was awful. I couldn’t eat! The sanitization department will be notified about the fly infestation at this hotel. The flies were all over the lobby, it was unavoidable. Travelers be warned! The workers at this hotel treat the flies better than the paying Customers.
This hotel is one-of-a-kind! The primary structure was built in the 1300s, and the gentleman who runs this quaint hotel is the 7th generation to own it. And they have animals! We passed a pig, a baby goat, chickens, bunnies, and roosters on our way in, and a huge St Bernard was flopped beside the registry. You can ignore the animals or engage with them--they are lovely and not a nuisance at all. The town is quiet and friendly and it's steps away from the Monte Bianca Skyway. We are here for a one-night stay, but I wish we were staying longer. Cannot recommend highly enough!
We LOVED Hotel la Grange! It is a truly beautiful hotel. It’s like stepping back in time as its decorated with tons of historic antiques and furniture. This part of Courmayeur is simply stunning and way better than the city center (I’ve visited Courmayeur 5x and this was my first in this part of town - about 2 miles from the center). We loved to meet and practice Italian with Isa, the manager for the bar and check-in.
A fantastic, animal friendly hotel for mountain folk. Immaculate clean, very friendly staff, outstanding service, views to die for. The perfect place.
We had a great stay in summer. We originally booked at la grange but we're transferred to its sister hotel up the road. Beautifully decorated and clean rooms with an abundant breakfast. Highly recommended for a stay in courmayeur. pet friendly
Nice Hotel, very friendly staff, nice rooms and convenient parking garage. Breakfast is awesome, thin doors in the rooms not so much. Stayed here twice and would stay again.
